What is a custom report domain?
By default, homeowner reports are served from app.homewatchiq.com. With a custom report domain, reports load from your own domain — for example reports.yourcompany.com — so homeowners see your brand in the browser address bar.
Step-by-step setup
- Go to Settings → White Label → Custom Report Domain
- Enter your subdomain — e.g.
reports.yourcompany.com - Click Save Domain
- Add a CNAME record at your domain registrar (see below)
- Wait for DNS to propagate (up to 48 hours)
- Return to the dashboard and click Verify CNAME
- Once verified, all homeowner reports will load from your domain
The CNAME record to add
| Type | Name | Value | TTL |
|---|---|---|---|
| CNAME | reports (or your chosen subdomain) | app.homewatchiq.com | 3600 |
Which subdomain should I use?
Always use a subdomain. Good options:
reports.yourcompany.comresults.yourcompany.comassessment.yourcompany.comhome.yourcompany.com
How long does setup take?
DNS propagation can take up to 48 hours. Once your CNAME is verified, SSL provisioning takes an additional 5-15 minutes. After that, all new reports will load from your domain automatically.
What about existing reports?
Reports generated before your custom domain was set up will continue to use the original app.homewatchiq.com URL. New reports generated after verification will use your custom domain.
